| The ride remained unchanged for several years until the park's soon to be last operating year. In early 2005, Chris Giffen of Sinister Shadows of York, PA had bumped into Morgan Hughes at the park, and pitched his idea of revamping the Inferno. While riding away on his golf cart, Morgan yelled back to Chris "Knock yourself out!" Chris would go on to paint over much of the older artwork, or add details like glowing eyes, and he added to the original stunts along while installing more modern blacklights to give the stunts an updated look. |
And he even put up a new Dante’s sign on the facade. Chris also installed hidden cameras that fed a live video to flat monitors that hung in the queue line so that waiting riders would know they would be watched. This was a deterrent to people considering vacating their cars in order to leap out to startle the next cars of riders or cause other forms of mischief. Chris was also lucky enough to run the ride in his spare time, and lovingly improved Dante's for what would be its last year of operation.
