The storyline is a humorous battle between the pirates and the Wildwood tourists, including a skeleton pirate commandeering a boardwalk tram car as the familiar recording “Watch the tram car, please!” plays on.

As your boat winds through the twisting channels, glowing black-lighted animated scenery depicts the mythical battle of the "buccaneers and the vacationeers", accompanied by the sounds of wind and sea with narration by the phantom pirates.

The ride employs the ChromaDepth (tm) 3D process developed by ChromaTek, in which the 3D glasses shift the image colors in different directions for each eye. Objects that are red will appear to advance toward the viewer, and those with a blue color appear to recede. Other colors occupy intermediate positions in space according to their places in the spectrum. The color design of the artwork programs the dimensional effect.
